Showcore, Inc., a leading event design, and production company from Minneapolis, MN was awarded, along with its other teaming members, the Best Public Event Award for 2016. The ILEA Star Awards gives event designers and production companies an opportunity to gain recognition for the fabulous events they create, plan, manage and execute each year. The project was Hormel’s 125th Anniversary Celebration and Grand Opening of the new and improved SPAM Museum.
The award went to the following team members: Cookie Coleman of Coleman Mason Events and Jill Blihovde and Roxann Adamsen of Showcore. Each teaming member integrated their expertise into the event planning and execution to make this Anniversary Celebration a success.
Showcore provided full technical support for all audio, video and lighting portions of the event which included the production of three separate stages. The event was designed to engage 20,000 attendees. During the Anniversary Celebration, attendees had the chance to engage with, Hormel-branded food trucks, A Hormel film festival, a Bacon-Fueled Motorcycle, a custom “Hormel Links” mini-golf course, inclusive children’s crafts, a celebrity appearance by Chef Sunny Anderson and an amazing performance by national recording artists The Band Perry.
